Two of us within us

An old man is teaching his grandson about life:

' A fight is going on inside me, and a terrible fight between two wolves. One is evil - anger, envy, regret, sorrow, revenge, falsehood, self doubt, ego, and lies.

"The other is good - joy, peace, happiness, love, affection, praise, truth, trust, compassion, confidence, good and faith."

And he continues saying - " And this fight is going inside you and inside every other person, too."

The grandson thought about it for a moment and then asked the grandfather,
"Which one will win?"

The grandfather replied " The one you feed."

So true that what you allow to roost in your head is what governs your behavior and your state of mind. If I feed my negativity, my negativity grows. If I feed my compassion and gratitude, they grow. I'm grateful today that I have a choice in the matter.

Loved your simple way of putting it. Good one! The most trickiest of instruments man has ever played with is his mind!

An excellent post reminding everyone to feed positive thoughts. It reminds me another conversation between Grand father and Grand son.
One day a little boy asking his Grandpa with his hands closed, whether the butterfly in his hand is dead or alive.
For that Grandpa responded, "It's in your hand".
It's the choice everyone make.
